Iron is a material in Ghost of Tsushima to get your melee weapon upgraded. Any Swordsmith can either upgrade your Sakai Tanto or your Sakai Katana. It will cost less Iron for lower and even more Iron for higher level upgrades.

- Iron can be bought from Trappers in exchange for Supplies, so make always sure to gather all Supplies crossing your way.
- Liberating small enemy outposts give you a fixed reward of Iron. This counts not for liberating Strongholds or farms. Check the red dots on your map to see the enemy outposts.
- You find Iron mostly at all small enemy outposts and all enemy Strongholds, therefore check the map for red dots and red building icons. Enemy Farms has less Iron than above mentioned points.
