Introduction

Cheers folks, we hope you enjoy our Resident Evil 2 Remake Trophy Guide The waiting is finally over. Let us enjoy this remake of an epic classic game and quite possible the most famous horror shooter of all times. Resident Evil 2 isn’t just a simple remake. Enjoy the awesome athmosphere and the great sound environment. We enjoyed a very high replay value of this game.

Do you remember the classic game of the old PS1 time? Also in Resident Evil 2 you can play 2 scenarios. One for Leon and the other for Claire. After finishing the game you can unlock a 2nd story e.g. for Leon. Therefore you have to complete the 1st scenario for Claire. The other way around you can unlock Claire’s 2nd story after finishing Leon’s campain. Finally you can see the “real” ending after completing both 2nd scenarios.

What’s new? Not really totally new, is the players perspective, in Resident Evil 4 you already had the chance to enjoy the over shoulder perspective. In Resident Evil 2 you can experience this perspective again. Also experienced before in the firt remake of Resident Evil is the use of self-defense items. If you get cought by an enemy, the self-defense items can be used to avoid taking damage and also to deal damage to your opponent.

For sure our goal is to unlock the platinum, right? Therefore you need to complete 6 or even more playthroughs of Resi 2. You have to get all different collectibles of each of the 2 stories from Leon and Claire. You can attempt to get S-Ranks on the 2nd to 4th playthrough. If you reached that goal, 2 playthroughs on Hardcore has to be done. If there are still some trophies missing we reccoment you to make another clean up playthrough on a lower difficulty level.

Let’s focus on the different stages that you need to complete:

Stage 1: Like mentioned before, you need to complete the game with Claire and Leon and collect all collectibles and combat-based trophies. We recommend you to start with Leon and switch to the “Assisted Difficulty” to catch up all collectibles. Check out the walkthrough-wiki for more detailed information. The reason for picking Assisted-Mode is that you will chase an enemy that is called the “Tyrant” on the halfway through the game. Playing on Assisted-Mode he is much easier to handle. He acts much slower, that allows you to have your eyes focused on Collectibles and get used to the game more comfortable.

The “Gotcha!” Trophy can be either achieved in Leon’s or Claire’s storyline. But as mentioned before you need to play both. “In the Blink of an Eye” has to be achieved with Leon and “With Time to Spare” needs to be achieved with Claire.

To change the storyline you need to select “New Game” in the main menu after completing the first playthrough with a character. After completing the first run with Leon, switch to Claire and catch up all Collectibles with her.

After that you will find “New Game 2nd Run” in the main menu. In the 2nd Runs you will find different puzzle solutions. Need help? Check out walkthrough-wiki.
The most efficient way would be if you try to combine thi with the “stage 2” of this roadmap and try to get the S-Ranks on Normal difficulty while you experience the 2nd Run storylines. Finish with Claire’s 2nd Run.

The Knife that never breaks – you will be rewarded with a special knife, that helps you later on while playing all following playthroughs and of course the hardcore runs, after finding all Collectibles (the Mr. Raccoons in particular)

Stage 2: To become rewarded with the Infinite Ammo Handgun you need to get the S-Ranks on Standard Difficulty.

The only thing you need to take care of to achieve an S-Rank is your completion time (on Normal difficulty):

  • Leon / Claire 1st run – 3h 30mins on Standard, 2h 30min on Hardcore
  • Leon / Claire 2nd run – 3h on Standard, 2h on Hardcore

The reason to achieve the S-Rank trophies is to unlock the infinite ammo Samurai Edge handgun after your first S-Rank achievement. You can use the handgun to complete the 2nd S-Rank run and of course the hardcore runs will be much easier with this infinite handgun.

Folks, once again, please note that S-Rank trophies will just unlock on Normal difficulty and above, not on Assisted difficulty.

Stage 3: Hardcore Runs – Now it’s time to have some fun. Use the infinity handgun that you received after completing Stage 2 of this guide. You need to complete the hardcore mode with both characters. Have fun 😉 But don’t worry, it will be feasible.

Stage 4: Finih the 4th Survivor bonus game mode one time. Become a Survivor!
