In a few days there will be a new exotic piece of armor in The Division 2. But are new exotic weapons planned? “Yes,” says Massive. But there are a few snags.
In The Division 2, many “exotic weapons” are not as important as in the first part. Although there are good weapons like the “Nemesis”, a sniper sniper rifle, but you can never have enough good exotics.
In a few days comes with Update 4 an exotic holster to The Division 2: It is the first exotic in the game, which is not a weapon.
In the course of the E3 2019 Massive was asked in an interview with Gamesradar, whether new Exotics for The Division 2 are planned.
Massive comments: “There are definitely plans for more exotic weapons and equipment later in the year.”
But it is probably very expensive to design new exotic items. It would take much more effort than just bringing more weapons:
“Gear sets and exotic weapons or equipment are difficult because there is so much standard equipment and the expectation of everything that goes beyond that is that it should bring something,” say the developers.
