James Mattone announced the new game mode Zombies Onslaught for the upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Zombies Onslaught will be available exclusiv on PS4 and PS5 until November 1, 2021.
The new cooperative multiplayer mode Zombies Onslaught is a up to two players who have to face against the zombie hordes on different multiplayer maps. From the official side it says:
In Zombies Onslaught, you and one other Operator will deploy to one of several locations derived from various Multiplayer maps with your custom loadouts. These are the very same loadouts you’ll carry into traditional Zombies and Multiplayer. Complete with your preferred primary weapon, whether it be an LMG, heavy-hitting sniper rifle, or other fully kitted-out tool for zombie destruction.
The Dark Aether Sphere locks you in a demarcated area of the map before the zombies begin their hunt. Ehe sphere’s increases his power and it moves across the map when you kill zombies. As long as you are in the sphere you will not suffer any damage from the Dark Aether. However, gradually stronger enemies will march with the zombies also becoming more resilient, faster and more deadly.
You have to keep moving and move around the map within the safe zone. You should also quickly adapt the strategy to the corresponding environment because some waves also bring elite opponents. At the end of a round you get awarded with a bronze, silver or gold rank which depends on the number of elite opponents killed. Through this you can also unlock useful rewards for the zombie and multiplayer mode including new maps and rewards in every season.
Black Ops Cold War will be released November 13, 2020 on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The PS5 release is one week later on November 19, 2020.
