Call of Duty Black Ops 4: First of all, no 100 players in blackout mode

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 gets its own Battle Royale mode. Developer Treyarch has betrayed a bit more on blackout.

While other Battle Royale games such as PUBG or Fortnite bet on 100 players or more per match, Treyarch wants to downsize this for the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Battle Royale. And that also has a specific reason.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4, Blackout Mode

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout – From 100 down to 80 players in the beta

Why does Blackout have fewer than 100 players? Treyarch claims that in Blackout 80 players will compete against each other. Internal tests were done with 100 players per match.

The reason given is that the gameplay takes precedence over the number of players. If Blackout feels better and plays better with 80 players, then this is more important than trying to bend and break, to bring in 100 players.

The number of players could still increase: As Treyarch announces, the 80 players per match are at least times eligible for the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta. It may well be that the number is still changed after the tests.

Even with the launch of the shooter, the number of players is not set in stone. The development team wants to work steadily with the community to improve. And if it turns out that blackout with more players is more fun and everything works well, then the number of players can still be adjusted after release.
