In the summer of 2023, the role-playing game „Final Fantasy XVI“ will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 5. Now producer Naoki Yoshida has revealed a small detail about the English voices.
Voices should fit the story
Yoshida recently did an interview with Japan’s Dengeki Online, in which he emphasized that there will be no American accent in Final Fantasy XVI. This is because the role-playing game is based on the European Middle Ages and the British accent fits it perfectly.
„I think what we equate with ‘Medieval Fantasy = Europe’ is best represented by The Lord of the Rings. We made sure we didn’t use American accents,“ Yoshida said.
