During the PlayStation 5 Showcase event, Square Enix announced that renowned developers Naoki Yoshida and Hiroshi Takai are working on a brand new Final Fantasy game. The standalone title is FINAL FANTASY XVI for PlayStation 5.
Soon after FINAL FANTASY XVI was announced, there was more information about the title. In addition to the “Awakening” trailer, screenshots were also published, a date for the title’s release has not yet been given. FFXVI will not be released until 2021 at the earliest.
