Fortnite seems to have had a lot of problems for a few days, Epic Games is struggling with more and more bugs.
A few days ago there was a message that the floating rings could no longer be collected, then the secret passages were deactivated and the shadow pickaxe in the shop was broken. The latest message says that all Whirlpools have been switched off.

The most serious are the floating rings, because the players need them for the challenges of the third and fourth week. Epic has now announced that the current mission “Collect Floating Rings at Pleasant Park” is now complete for all players, so you don’t have to play this mission, it is automatically completed.
With the many problems in Fortnite, it can be assumed that a hotfix update will appear shortly. We hope that Update 13.20.2 or PS4 Patch 2.78 will be released as soon as possible and Fortnite will run again without errors.
