Lunar Festival in World of Warcraft: This is new in 2019

World of Warcraft hosts the annual Lunar Festival. But in 2019 there are some innovations that should not be missed especially collectors.

The Lunar Festival in World of Warcraft is one of the oldest events held each year. Regularly, the event is provided with new rewards, so even after more than a decade something new can be earned.

New rewards in 2019: This year, there are a total of seven new toys that you can buy from the NPCs. These are two complete costumes, each consisting of three parts and a new peacestone with special animation. That cost the individual items:

  • Green dragon tail costume: 25 coins of the ancestors
  • Green dragon body costume: 10 coins of the ancestors
  • Green Dragon Head Costume: 25 coins of the ancestors
  • Blue dragon tail costume: 25 coins of the ancestors
  • Blue dragon body costume: 10 coins of the ancestors
  • Blue dragon head costume: 25 coins of the ancestors
  • Peacestone of the Moon Elder: 30 coins of the ancestors

If you want all the rewards from this year, you need 150 coins. Remember that you can collect the coins with multiple characters and then buy the toys on different avatars. After all, they all end up in the same collection.

How To Collect the Coins: Ancient coins are available from special ancestral NPCs around the world. Each ancestor has a quest that is rewarded with a coin. This is going to be a trip around the world, so you should plan a lot of time, or just watch a great show along the way. All ancestors can be found easily with an addon, such as Candy Buckets (link to Curse). The addon practically shows you all the ancestors on the map, so you do not have to miss or google for a long time.

Past need for some zones: Please keep in mind that some zones have changed massively since the launch of the Lunar Festival. It is necessary in these areas to speak with Zidormi in order to travel to an “old version” of the respective zone and locate the corresponding ancestors. This applies to Tirisfal, the Blasted Lands, Teldrassil with the Darkshore, and Silithus. Zidormi will be shown on the map.

The Lunar Festival lasts two weeks: The Lunar Festival is active from January 28 (today) to February 10 – exactly two weeks. That’s how long you have time to earn all the rewards.

Have you already got the rewards from the Lunar Festival? Or are you going to take it easy and then panic at the end?
