The acquisition was anticipated to close in October when the news broke. Now that the time has come, Nintendo has formally announced the launch of its website, Nintendo Pictures.
Nintendo Pictures announced that they want to hire new personnel starting in November. Given that there were no rumors of a massive layoff at the original studio, they want to increase the capacities.
Unique videos
Unsurprisingly, the new business intends to produce works featuring Nintendo characters. As Dynamo Pictures had experience with projects like Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, it is unknown if this will apply to movies. Films are not mentioned by the company now, only that they would make “unique videos.”
Mario Movie
Mario Movie Additionally, this acquisition has nothing to do with Illumination Studios’ planned Mario movie. The eagerly anticipated, unnamed Mario Movie is Nintendo’s most significant foray into adaptations. It collaborates with Illumination, the cartoon company best known for producing the Minions. The movie doesn’t yet have a trailer; other than the cast, not much is known about it. However, it has been revealed that the first teaser trailer will debut on October 6, 2022, at New York Comic-Con.
