PS5 Firmware Update 20.02-2.26.00 – Details on November 25

Sony released a system software update for the PS5 today – we will have all the details about this update on November 25.

Not everyone has a Playstation 5 at home at the moment, but some do. For those with a PS5, Sony released a system software update today.

The PS5 update 20.02-2.26.00 can now be downloaded and installed, the file size is around 868 MB.

The official patch notes are not yet available. What we know about the PS5 update so far:

  • system performance improved
  • Fixed: An issue where users couldn’t download games because only the “Queued for Download” or “View Details” option was displayed was resolved.

 

As soon as Sony has released the official patch notes for the PS5 update, we will update this article.

 

How to Install PS5 system software

There are two ways to install the PS5 update:

#1 Automatic download
Go to the PS5 system settings (click on the gear in the upper right corner of the start screen) and select system and system software. Then select the tab “Upload and Settings”. There you can download and install the update.

 

#2 PS5 file download – USB
Go to the Internet and visit the official Sony website, then navigate to Hardware and System Software. Here is the direct link.

On this page you can download the update manually and load it onto a USB stick. Further instructions are also explained.
