PS5 – Will the hardware be produced soon?

With news from the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, it is possible that production for the Playstation 5 will begin in the near future. The manufacturer of processor chips has discovered that 7nm (CLN7FF) process technology chips are now being produced in large quantities, and there is reason to believe that this could be related to the PS5.

Why could that be? Well, first, the company says that it will be used for the application in gaming, which is inherently something that refers to the use in gaming hardware. “By the end of this year, more than 50 product tape-outs are planned, ranging from applications for mobile devices, server CPUs, network processors, games, GPU, PGA, crypto-currency, automotive and AI. Our 7nm is already in mass production, “says TMCS President C. C. Wei, according to AdandTech.

Interestingly, it should be noted that next generation CPUs and GPUs manufactured by AMD are likely to use these questionable 7nm chips, and it is also very likely that Sony will use the next generation of the AMD Accelerated Processing Unit. It has been rumored for some time that the PS5 will use the AMD graphics processor Navi and that its CPU will be powered by AMD’s Zen 2.

There is of course the possibility that these statements refer to something else, but the connections seem to be very legitimate. Rumor has it that the PS5 will take at least two more years to come, so it may take a while before it is officially confirmed or denied.
