Resident Evil Village development team briefly considered making Chris Redfield the star of its planned DLC before abandoning it in favor of Shadows Of Rose, which stars Rose Winter.
Resident Evil: Rose was favored by most of the staff
Director Kento Kinoshita said that Rose was favored by most of the staff despite Chris having been considered at one point in an interview with Inside Games (translation by GamesRadar+).
Chris is a playable character in near the climax of the game and plays a significant role in the story. The former S.T.A.R.S. agent also appeared in the Not A Hero DLC for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, which takes place after the main game.
In Shadows of Rose, Ethan’s adult daughter engages in combat with new foes deep inside the megamycete. Read our impressions of the DLC in our hands-on preview here. On October 28, the material will be released together with the Winters’ Expansion. Would you rather have Chris Redfield as the main star? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
