Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us: Part 1 now holds the number one spot on the All Format Chart for physical sales in the UK.
Even though it has only been available for purchase for a total of three days, it has already managed to climb all the way to the top of the charts. The date September 2, 2022 was chosen for the game’s initial release.
On Twitter, Christopher Dring stated that the game sold approximately one-half as many copies as Saints Row during the previous week, to quote:
“The Last of Us: Part 1 is narrowly No.1 in the UK physical retail chart this week. It’s a remaster and not a particularly big launch. It’s sold around half of what last week’s Saints Row managed. This is purely physical sales.”
The fact that The Last of Us: Part I is only available for the PlayStation 5 makes the fact that it has topped the rankings all the more incredible. This is especially the case when one considers the fact that these rankings only take into account sales of the physical product and do not take into account sales made via online channels.

The Last of Us: Part I was built from the ground up just for the PlayStation 5 and was designed to take advantage of all of the possibilities that the console offers. As a direct consequence of this, it features a substantial number of improvements in contrast to both the first game and the PS4 remaster of that game. These upgrades include, among other things, enhanced character models, lighting effects, and environments that have a great deal of depth.
Players who were unable to enjoy The Last of Us: Part I in the past are now allowed to do so because the game features a large number of accessibility settings. Additionally, the artificial intelligence that is utilized during combat has been improved, and the single-player downloadable content known as Left Behind is incorporated into this bundle as well.
