World of Warcraft patch 8.1 will be released soon

The next patch of World of Warcraft is coming soon to the PTR. In a few days, it will reveal what the first content patch will be about.

Many players have already ripped through the latest World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth content. While the mythical raid or “Mythic+” dungeons still present harder challenges, most of the content is already completed in its basic form. The hunger for new content is already growing again – and Blizzard already has an answer.

Next patch coming soon: Yesterday evening (14.09.2018), Game Director Ion Hazzikostas hosted an “Ask me Anything” on Reddit and asked himself some questions from the community. He also announced that the next patch is already in the starting blocks.

When will there be new information? On September 18th, World of Warcraft will be hosting a livestream on Twitch and talking about the content that will be included in the upcoming update. It is likely that this is patch 8.1.

PTR will follow soon: Shortly after the stream, the PTR will be uploaded to the next patch on the test server. With an average testing time of 4-6 weeks, players might be able to play the first major content update for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth in early November.

So far everything is unknown: As far as the content of patch 8.1 is concerned, the players are still completely in the dark. Although there are some assumptions that the plot will take on the Naga ride and Azshara (who had their own cinematic here) finally shows more presence, this is not confirmed yet. In Legion you already knew what the first patch would contain, because there was the night fortress, the second big raid, already playable during the beta.
