PS5: 1440p Beta Firmware and Playlists announced

Sony has announced that there will be new firmware for the PS5 with 1440p support. The system update will initially be tested as part of a beta in which only selected players can participate.

If you’ve been selected to participate in the beta, you’ll receive an email invitation when the new PS5 firmware is available for download today. At the same time, the company points out that the features available during the beta phase do not necessarily have to be included in the final version of the PS5 firmware.

The best novelty of the new firmware is HDMI video output at 1440p, which allows gamers to choose an additional visual setting on compatible monitors.
