Epic Games has announced Fortnite Update 8.40, the Fortnite servers are being shut down and maintenance is underway to release the new update.
Fortnite server offline on April 17
At 5AM ET(0900 UTC) the servers are taken offline. How long the maintenance will take, has not been mentioned. If everything runs smoothly, the Fortnite servers should be offline for only 1 or 2 hours.
What brings us update 8.40? There are not many details about today’s update. Some new content for the PVE mode is known: 2 new heroes, Rabbit Raider Jonesy returns and the Easter Eggs Launcher is added.
Whether Update 8.40 will become a pure server update or whether we also need to download Client Patch 2.15 (PS4) is not known. Once Epic releases the official patch notes, we will provide them for you.
